Strong Engine

The engine is powered by a 5.8-liter V8 aluminum block engine that produces 662 horsepower. Twin Vortices Series 2300 blower produces 2.3 liters. Additionally, the cooling system has been upgraded and the intercooler heat exchanger volume increased up to 36 percent, according to Jeff Albers – SVT Powertrain team lead.

“Every change we made was designed to enhance horsepower or airflow. Additionally, we made certain the parts could withstand intense pressures.”

Acceleration has been increased to 9-14 PSI, leading to a top speed of over 200 mph. The engine features Plasma Transferred Wire Arc liner coat technology which applies a 150 micron composite coating on the bores’ internal surfaces. City driving now achieves an impressive 15 mpg EPA rating while highway performance stands at 24 mpg, according to SVT chief engineer Jamal Hameedi.

“With the driveshaft, we were able to eliminate a joint and increase stiffness and drive power to get us up to top speed while handling torque. To guarantee smooth wheel movement throughout the system, we had to check every component.”
